おりふし【折節】

1 〔その時･その折〕 《at》 the time 《of…》; 《on》 the occasion 《of…》.

●通学の折節に立ち寄った本屋 a book store I dropped in at on the way to or from school.

2 〔季節〕 a season; one of the four seasons.

●折節の挨拶 seasonal greetings.

3 〔ちょうどその時〕 just then [at that moment].

●桜堤の鉄橋に, 折節電車が通りかかって, 絵はがきのような光景だった. With a train crossing an iron bridge over an embankment of blossoming cherries just at that moment, it was a scene that might have come from a postcard.

4 〔時折〕 occasionally; from time to time.

●折節見かけるあのご老人はどなたでしょう. Who is that old man I see from time to time [who occasionally appears]?

・折節あなたのことを思い出しています. I think of you from time to time. | You occasionally come into my thoughts.
